Generative welding has made its way into additive manufacturing, or 3D printing. Summarized under the technology term WAAM (Wire-Arc-Additive-Manufacturing), components are manufactured additively instead of using conventional manufacturing technologies such as casting, forging or machining. The advantages of tool-free and flexible additive manufacturing are particularly evident in the area of single part and small series production. Components are manufactured locally in the shortest possible time and are therefore quickly available as spare parts or pre-series components. The production costs for such components are often more favorable when manufactured using the WAAM process instead of traditional production methods. If the subsequent costs in the event of long delivery times or non-availability of the component are also considered, additive manufacturing creates significant added value. Our manufacturing solution using WAAM offers a holistic system that is designed to meet the specific requirements of the technology and the applications regarding hardware and software.
